Personal blender - My best investment in years

Ever since my favorite fruit and juice shop moved out of the Goldhill shop, I no longer have a regular juice supplier. Back in those days at my ex company, I drank at least one juice a day, sometimes 2!

When I came across a personal juicer called shake and take on qoo10, I was really tempted to buy it. Not sure what stopped me, fear of more gadgets?

Until I came across a mistral naturai personal blender while shopping. I was contemplating whether it would become another white elephant, but decided to go for it as I think I am really lacking the juices I used to enjoy. Turned out the machine was on offer, $26 instead of $89! An absolute steal!

That night I wasted no time in shopping for fruits at the supermarket.  But I forgot something very crucial. That it is a blender not a juicer. So it basically can't handle any fibrous fruits and vegetables. I actually bought celery cucumber apple and starfruit!

No choice, dad to the rescue. I borrowed a juicer from my dad, which is coincidentally the juicer I bought for him but he hasn't used.

And so began my blending / juicing journey. I am so glad that I would not waste those expensive peaches that didn't ripen properly (生番薯) and that I could make yummy strawberry and fruity blends for my daughter and husband in an instant.

I even made frozen margarita!!!

  1. I bought a Mistral Naturai Blender at $1000+ that comes with 1yr warranty, except for motor 5yrs warranty, and 10yrs warranty on the blender blade.  The accessories attached to the blender blade are damaged in the 2nd year, mistral manufacturer do not dismantle the blender to repair or exchange the accessories,  they suggested I buy a new jug at $288 at some discount. Therefore, do not fall into the trap of many years warranty unless 100% coverage. What is the purpose of giving a 10yr-warranty of the blade when accessories attached to the blade are easily damaged? According to nutritionist, fruits juice is very fattening, especially diabetic should avoid .

    1. hi, so sorry about your blender. Yes i do agree that some warranties are rather useless if they are not all encompassing. my blender didnt cost much so i didn't think much of it. and right, juices can be rather fattening but given a choice between soft drinks and juices, i think we would rather have 100% juices. sometimes, we just need that cool thing in this hot weather! :)

    2. I bought the Naturai blender P10 at $1388 - 10% and now (Jan 2015) they are selling at half the price $799. The promoter told me P12 the so called newer model has no new features and work the same as P10, in fact P12 has more built-in buttons easier for customers. I think they are shortchanging customers like us who bought this blender within 2 years of them slashing the price by half..& yes the jug leaks in the 2nd year !

  2. Oh dear, so sorry about your blender. These days items never lasted as long as they used to. That's why I'm reluctant to invest a lot in them. I'm now using the personal juicer to blend baby fruit puree! Good and cheap buy in my opinion
